Forgot I had...

I was reorganizing my closet over the weekend and I came across this pair of earrings I purchased back in 1991.  I know it was specifically that year from pictures I have when I was wearing them I can't believe that was 21 years ago.
They're very heavy come with clip-on's and are about 4inches long.

Here's another pair I specifically remember getting from "The Limited" in 1990 and if I remember correctly they were $24.00.
Have you come across any jewelry or other accessories you forgot you had?

Weird Stuff

Looking froward to trying this easy chicken recipe I want to try this summerChicken Pesto SaladCourtesy of Horses and Heels

So last weekend was a challenge, my mother fell and broke her hip.   She had hip replacement surgery and was in the hospital for four days I spent those days visiting her several times a day - don't want to do that again.

This past Friday night we went AZ88 it's a very cool place, very contemporary and really good food it always draws a great crowd from alternative and "artsy" people to your average Jane and Joe.
This is a sculpture at the entrance of AZ88
It's dark but I like it

I love horses...

Do you like something that other people may consider weird?

Dinner at Dominicks

The husband and I recently had dinner at Dominicks, my new favorite place for a special dining experience.
First off the Bar is spectacular with huge I mean huge chandeliers
a wall with glass rounded shelves for their inventory of bottles that reached the ceiling - just spactacular.
Hefty leather bar stools with tall backs.
We ordered the Fried Meatballs for an appetizer - they were HUGE and delish !
For my entrĂ©e I ordered the crab cakes and the Husband ordered the Fish both very very good our side dishes were not only spectacular but rich and filling one of the sides was the Brandy sauteed
mushrooms which were total goodness!!
What's been one of your best dining experiences?

By the way please visit my new website www.MartiMagna.com
Have a great weekend.

Web Wandering Wednesday

So my latest wine obsession is a Blend of Zinfandel, Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Syrah.
It's Extremely affordable so if you don't like it you won't feel like you just threw money down the drain.

It's Red Velvet from Cupcake Vineyards in California

Stands up to Ice, I know - but if you lived in the desert with our hot Summer’s you would understand.
Definitely has a lot of body so if you like more of the fruitier lighter wines this is probably not for you.

From around the web:
I love these prints by frighten on Etsy I consider them "prints with personality" check them out and tell me what you think.  Thanks to Teacups and Couture who did a post about it on her Blog.

So when my in-laws were in town a couple of weeks ago to visit I cooked dinner for them on their last night of the trip.  A fab pasta dish - the recipe came from How Sweet it Is and it was delish!

So guess what I plan on doing this Memorial Day weekend? I plan to work on my website.  I ended up stressing myself out because I just wanted to get it done and published but I realize that I chose to do it myself instead of hiring someone to create it and use the money toward buying more gold filled wire to make the jewelry.  Now I just have to keep reminding myself that it's okay and that I will eventually complete it, after all I've come this far I've been working at it since early December.  And this is my new brand...

Do you like it? I'll share with you on another post where the name came from.
Thanks for visiting

Hillstone

I could live off Sushi from Hillstone and no I'm not being paid to advertise it, it's just that good.  It's the HB favorite restaurant so I took him to dinner there for his Birthday this month.
We started by splitting the Spinach Dip Appetizer

It's cheesy and delish, served with sour cream and salsa on the side with tortilla chips for scooping - personally I could do without the salsa.

The Sushi Oh My the Sushi...

I ordered two rolls of Sushi one a standard California Roll difference is it's finished off by rolling it in coconut flakes, I've never had it that way before.  Have you?   Their sushi is the freshest I have tasted since having Sushi in Seattle.  The other roll on the right has cucumber and mango on the inside with Asparagus but instead of rice or seaweed the actual roll is a very thin slice of Salmon.  You can see the asparagus sticking out off to the left of the roll.

If there's a HillStone in your area, I highly recommend you try out it.

ONE MONTH LATER

What's been happening:
The HB is a huge Frank fanatic - (Frank Lloyd Wright) so we attended the Phoenix Art Museum every week after work for the last few weeks in April.

Kansas City, MO.
We took a long weekend trip to Kansas City, MO for a college reunion
(where my husband attended college)
The Country Club Plaza is an area of Kansas City that is absolutely fantastic it's filled with restaurants and shops.  Very European feeling and architecture.

Fountains are everywhere - very pretty
My husband
Overlooking Country Club Plaza

You may or may not know this but as a NW native I've had my share of delicious Salmon so it was amazed at just how delicious this Salmon was from Jack Stacks Barbecue.
Grilled Salmon served on top of Caesar Salad

I may have had a little too much of the grape here lol

Handbag obsession for the week
