Diane Von Furstenberg

As a little girl I admired wrap dresses worn by the "grown up" women around me.
(I loved playing dress up and pretending I was a sophisticated adult woman)

In my teens I became a fan of fashion and learned that it was Diane Von Furstenberg who had designed and introduced the wrap dress I admired so much as a kid.

Her wrap dress was such a success in the 1970's selling millions she graced the cover of Newsweek Magazine at 29 in 1976.

She created Tatiana a perfume named after her daughter.  I wore it during the late 80's early 90's I can still smell it when I think about, still like it from what I remember.

After such success her business crashed in the 1980's but in the 1990's her "body hugging" dress was rediscovered by women in vintage shops which resurrected her brand.  She became a guest on the QVC shopping network selling her new line of dresses putting her name back on the map.   Diane has since introduced several lines including accessories, luggage and now housewares.

In 2005, Diane Von Furstenberg received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America. She is now president of the council, the industry trade association.
Look at her Pre-Fall Collection lookbook, I want these dresses below including the boots of course.

Diane Von Furstenberg is one of the great women I admire, she’s right up there with coco chanel a Fashion Icon, a Maven of the industry one who inspires me everyday to proceed with my business goals everyday.  I hope that this bit of information on Diane Von Furstenberg has inspired you to push along with your dreams.

Ashoka

I'm in love with the jewelry by William Goldberg.

Look at this beautiful Ashoka Trilogy Ring in Platinum,
 by William Goldberg Diamond Corporation.

One of my favorite necklaces is this Ashoka Ballerina necklace

40 carats in Platinum

Another favorite is this "layering" necklace with Ashoka diamonds scattered the length of the necklace.

The Lili Ashoka chain in Platinum

What makes the Ashoka...
It starts with a cutting strategy visualized by Master Cutter Motti Bernstein an experienced diamond cutter who has been with Goldberg for over 20 years.

It's a signature shape, a unique "one of a kind" cut created by William Goldberg
(U.S. Patent # D418444 Ashoka by William Goldberg)
It's an elongated cushion cut with rounded soft edges, so beautiful he created a jewelry line dedicated to the Ashoka cut and added it it to his already exquisite and stunning beautiful collection of jewelry.

Absolutely beautiful.

Believe in yourself and you can create your own stage ~Lady GaGa

So this weekend was the first time I was up until almost 2am since New Year’s Eve it and well worth it.  We met friends for dinner and drinks then headed over to the US West Arena to see Lady GaGa in concert which BTW was spectacular!!  She is the definition of a “Performing Artist” not only did she sing with her heart and soul but she gave her audience “a performance” this the only way I can describe her show.  Spectacular!!

Desert Hike

  • The HB and I were able to get out and visit with nature this week we went on a little hike in the desert.  This guy must have stood about 30 feet tall.

  • The color of this little bud is spectacular, it's hard to believe a desert has flowers with such intense color - The downfall is their only alive for about a month before the heat starts to shrivel them up.
  • One of my suppliers had this beautiful Pink Mystic Quartz, It's 33mm in length which is roughly 1 inch and 1/4 I just had to have it.

I'm thinking it will be great as a focal piece on a necklace.

Stamp it - The Pictures

Last weeks post was on my one and only favorite jewelry designer that has captured so many fans with her quality personalized jewelry. For whatever reason the pictures didn't appear on the post but that has been corrected. Here are just a few examples of her beautiful work. Which is your favorite?

Stamp It

Your familiar with the hand stamped jewelry that has become so popular the last couple of years right?  I'm a huge fan myself because this type of personalized jewelry allows you to honor whatever you hold dear to your heart while wearing it in the form of a necklace or bracelet.  You can find a large variety of these stamped jewelry vendors online, but just as with anything else that's fashion related from clothes, shoes to jewelry it will come and go unless it's a "classic" and this is what I wanted to share with you today.

I wanted to tell you about my absolute favorite designer for personalized jewelry – Heather B. Moore.

Nothing compares to her personalized fine jewelry line - it’s indulgent, it’s rich and it’s decadent this may sound a little over the top but if you haven’t seen her work it’s the best way I can describe it.
All of her pieces are stamped by hand at her studio in Cleveland, OH so you won’t be getting a piece that’s been mass produced with a generic font stamped on it also you won’t be limited to a couple of design options either.

Aside from the typical yellow 14kt gold Heather offers white, green or rose gold and of course there's also Sterling Silver.   You can dress up your personalized piece by adding a few tiny diamonds to your tag or your kids birthstone.   Her pieces are quality pieces created with durability in mind and can be worn with just about any outfit truly classic.  I must sound like I'm a paid sponsor for Heather B. Moore but I'm not I just think her personalized jewelry is beautiful and if you like investing in quality you need to heathermoorejewelry.com

Are you a fan of Stamped Jewelry and who do you like?
