In the Spirit of Halloween

One year ago this October we went to Ann Arbor, MI to spend a few nights at a Frank Lloyd Wright house (my husbands favorite Architect).  The present owners rent the house to fans drawing people from around the world who want to experience "living" in the architect's house.  Here is the hubs looking through books and literature the original owners had and some the new owners have added.

In the spirit of Halloween I wanted to share this pic from LA WOMAN they have an awesome table scape example for a Halloween dinner party

Lara over at My Milk Glass Heart posted on a Haunted Doll House

Not sure who came out with these booties but I sure love them.  Picture courtesy of Small Shop Studio

Halloween - Around the Corner

Halloween is fast approaching - I like Halloween, what other time of the year does society "accept" a grown person dressed in a costume or just wacky make-up for that matter.  The hubs and I will apply goofy make-up on our faces if nothing else.

My latest obsession:

The Ballin Bow Ankle Boot

When I was a kid in the 70's there was a show called Isis, she was another superhero character like Wonder Woman but for some reason she wasn't as popular.

I totally forget about that show and how much I liked it until I came across this pic
Do you remember what show I'm talking about?  Take a peek?

Who was your favorite Superhero?

It's been a while

It's been a while...
You might remember I mentioned our Bathrooms are being renovated.  I still have stuff everywhere in my office/studio until the bathrooms are done.  The HB and I don't like to charge anything unless it's an emergency so we pay as we go along which is why it's taking longer than anticipated.  Oh well.  Although everything is somewhat organized I can't enjoy working at my PC while in organized chaos.

The hubs and I must have the only house on earth still using PC's not laptops - I've choosen to use spare money to continute buying the jewelry parts and components I need.  If I wasn't so determined to have a large kick-ass collection by the tenative launch date in January 2012 I would definately have a cool laptop.

Really want an iPad too.

Being away from my desk has allowed me to spend quality "me time" - vital for everyone of us and it's been nice I have to admit.

A few pics of our precious child:

Picture of the child this winter when we brought him home from the rescue.  He was completly shaven a few days we picked him up.

Sleeping next to mom on the his blankets, we have them everywhere, his hair is very long and gets on everything.

"I wish all the kitties on earth were as lucky as other kitties that are loved and kept indoors like me"

Lot's of new shoe and handbag obssessions to show you on the next post.

Have you ever had the juice of a prickly pear?
This is what a prickly pear looks like... they usually sprout in the spring but I saw these the other day driving down a street not to far from our house.

Remodeling mess

We're in the process of putting new counters and cabinets in both baths.  Stripped off the mirrors because the HB is doing the whole thing on his own, I don't ask, he knows what he's doing - I have stuff in my studio/office everywhere and in no order.

I've been enjoying the weekends which hasn't left much time for me to collect the stuff I want to share with you.

Running two households (the parental unit) and my own so you know I'm busy but looking forward to getting back on a regular schedule.

xoxoxo

This past weekend was filled with a lot of errand running however I was able to squeeze some time with my local gal pals

And here I am on the right

Sometime last week the lovely Lara form My Milk Glass Heart made a comment like:
"Holidays will be upon us before we know it"
You know what I thought of?  This also means we have four full months away from a brand new year.   I tend to be a little goal driven here's a short list of a few things I want to accomplish by years end.
            • Finish entire jewelry line for a photo shoot
            • Reorder Business Cards (goof on the last order)
            • Complete the website
            • Use Facebook for Jewelry Designs by MiSA (I have a love/hate thing with Facebook)
            • Organize paperwork in my office
            • Tidy-up my Studio
            • Replenish my Sanity on a regular basis by doing more for me.
            • Finish reading the book in my husband gave me this past Holiday season
            • Buy and read “The Help” before it's available on On- Demand
            • Remember to take more pictures to share with you on this BLOG
            • I have a project I'm working on to print more photos to hang in our hallway at home.

A shorter post this week than the norm however this week has been extra hectic trying to squeeze in physical therapy for the shoulder, luckily it's worked and on my way to getting all that pain and tension out of the way and feeling better.

Okay this isn't a purse/handbag but I couldn't help falling for it.
It's an all purpose bag for the gym by Luglife
There's a couple of women at the gym that have one and they absolutely love it.  It's light weight yet sturdy and there's zipper pockets everywhere.
It comes in several colors, and of course I'm all over the purple and the fuchsia.

It's August and the birthstone for this month is Peridot.

Missing the Ocean

We won't be able to get to the beach this summer which makes me miss the water even more.  Here's to you oceans of the world:

Are they beautiful or what?  White gold with diamonds and onyx for the eyes. From the Animal World collection

It's no joke that Dolphins are beautiful and intelligent creatures, I have watched them for myself swim along side boats as though escorting the boat and the people in it.

Coming a cross a pod of whales in the ocean is breathtaking because you can appreciate how beautiful they truly are, you also realize your on their turf, your not at Sea World.

You can hear them, they're shiny and enormous they're beautiful.  They swim under your boat and come out on the other side, its truly an amazing.

They are seen frequently off of the San Juan's, swimming along to their destinations.   By law you must turn off the engine to your boat and give them the right-of-way.

I grew up on the coast, can you tell I miss the water?
Do you like the ocean/beach what do you like the most about it.

On another note, my business cards came in today, finally.
What do you think?

Getting through the Shoulder Pain

For the last several months I've been dealing with bad shoulder and neck pain so I've been rather evasive and generic with the dam pain.  After visiting the doctor telling me it was stress related and that I needed to relax and take Advil's etc. followed up with PT I'm on my way to feeling better already.
Anyway until I get some time off this is where I'll envision myself at...

  • Around here you'll find a variety of Mexican Restaurants everything from small family owned restaurants to the boutique restaurants with a gourmet twist. One day the HB and I decided to try out a restaurant called  The Blue AdobeI had the prickly pair margarita yum!  Served in a tall glass with salt on the rim.   I'm not a huge fan of Tequila?  But this drink was delicious.
I had a beautiful bowl of some of the creamiest guacamole for an appetizer, it was so good I ate most of it by myself - the HB isn't a bag fan.  By the time I had my last bite I was too full to order an entree.

This is what the HB had...
Pecan Roasted Chicken Breast stuffed with Green Chiles, Fontina Cheese and Chorizo, smothered with an Amaretto Mushroom Cream Sauce. Green Chile Potato & Sautéed Vegetables.
Keep up the good cook'in Blue Adobe
  • It's so hot out who can think about Fall Shoes? I most certainly cannot but I am in love with these snake skins by Fendi

Nordy's
  • If you're a horse lover like I am, you might appreciate this...

Ferrari has come out with a brooch for their iconic logo.
Made in Italy, crafted in 18k white gold, 442 brilliant cut diamonds, in a pave setting, measuring 7.6cm in height and 5.2cm wide.  The price tag $29,583.33 and does not include shipping, tax or customs fees or any other costs.

Have a great weekend, until next week

This weeks Obsessions
I'm enamored with this chic and stylish cuff by Kara Ross, I visualize it with a pair of jeans or a sexy dress in blue or even burgundy to bring out the contrasting colors.

I love this quote it is so true.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

~ Max Ehrmann, Desiderada

Thank you Mary Jo from Trust your Style for posting this wonderful quote.

This week's purse obsession
